Saturday

Start with a slow, cosy morning

Stay in bed a little longer with the windows cracked open.

This may look like journalling for a few minutes, light stretching or Pilates at home, making a warm coffee, chai or matcha. Then begin to get ready slowly with an autumn playlist in the background.

Go for a cosy breakfast with someone you love

Choose a warm café with a cosy interior and have a proper breakfast and catch up without rushing. Be present. Enjoy.

Grab your favourite seasonal drink and go for an autumn walk

I would recommend a cinnamon coffee, chai, matcha or another seasonal drink. Walk through a park or beautiful neighbourhood. Notice the changing leaves and colder air. Sometimes it’s the small things that make us smile.

Spend the afternoon somewhere inspiring

Visit a bookstore and choose a book for autumn. A gallery or museum is also a great idea, especially if the weather is rainy. Browse slowly rather than trying to fit too much into the day. Remember, you’re not in a rush. Don’t enter auto pilot mode.

Do a little seasonal grocery shop

pick up ingredients for a warm dinner such as seasonal fruit and vegetables. Your body will thank you for it.

Cook a wholesome autumn dinner at home

It’s the season for soup, pasta, roasted vegetables, risotto or another comforting, hearty meal. Bonus points for putting on music and making cooking part of the evening. Not a chore. Add candles around your space, paired with soft lighting, the ideal cosy night.

Have an autumn movie night

Grab your favourite cosy blanket, tea and a treat. I recommend the following: When Harry Met Sally (1989), You’ve Got Mail (1998) and Little Women (2019).

Sunday

Have a proper slow Sunday morning

Stay in bed a little longer. Read instead of immediately going on your phone. Indulge in coffee or tea in bed. Just enjoy not having anywhere to rush to.

Take a long autumn walk in nature

Go to a park, forest or somewhere especially beautiful during autumn. Maybe it’s somewhere you’ve had in mind to visit for a while. Try to leave the headphones at home.

Make a nourishing autumn breakfast or brunch

Something warm and nutritious such as porridge with cinnamon and fruit, eggs and toast, pancakes, or whatever feels comforting to you. Actually sit down and enjoy it slowly. Yes you guessed it, no phone.

Have a coffee and plan the week ahead

Coffee, matcha whatever your hot drink of choice may be. Look through your calendar, choose the main priorities for the week and make a realistic to-do list. Think about meals, workouts and anything you want to make time for. This way you have a clear overview of everything you need and want to do for the upcoming week.

Have a quiet afternoon for yourself

Read, study or learn something new. Work on a personal project, maybe you decided to learn a new language? Always wanted to become a pro at chess? Go for it. Journaling is always a great idea. Let yourself have some genuinely unstructured time too

Reset your home for the new week

Tidy, clean, do the laundry, change the bedding and organise your desk and living space. Start the week with a clean slate.

Prepare Monday in advance

Pack your bag, prepare your outfit, organise snacks or breakfast and charge your devices. Get all the little practical things out of the way.

Finish with an everything shower

This means hair care, skincare and body care. Maybe you decide to give yourself a massage. Slip into clean pyjamas and make a tea, begin to unwind and have an early night.
